Happy Grandparents Day!

Today is not the day that Jimmy Carter proclaimed as "Grandparents Day" in 1978. Today is much more special! Today is the Feast Day of St. Anne & St. Joachim - the patron saints of grandparents - the grandparents of Jesus. Not much is written about these saints, but what we know of them is what we have learned by the virtue of their daughter, our Mother Mary.

Geneva, Rafael, Gabriela & Micaela are very lucky to have their grandparents in their lives. What we as parents have learned, we have learned beginning with our parents - their grandparents. A grandparent's unconditional love is the kind of love that plants a seed in a child's heart that grows and grows even when those children become grandparents themselves. I could go on & on... But to sum it up in words the kids really know - their Grandmas & Grandpas are good examples!

And like they say - Grandparents are those with silver in their hair and gold in their hearts. Along with the kiddos, we are blessed to have them! Love to you all.

Welcome to Catholic Mothers Online! You have a beautiful family!!!!

I'm in Texas as well...north Texas though. I have four kiddos, three homegrown and one transplant. I also homeschool and we started school this past week.

We live so far from our grandparents but just went back home to visit them last month! Praise God for wonderful grandparents!

I'm going to follow you, Lady!
