Happy Grandparents Day!

Today is not the day that Jimmy Carter proclaimed as "Grandparents Day" in 1978. Today is much more special! Today is the Feast Day of St. Anne & St. Joachim - the patron saints of grandparents - the grandparents of Jesus. Not much is written about these saints, but what we know of them is what we have learned by the virtue of their daughter, our Mother Mary.

Geneva, Rafael, Gabriela & Micaela are very lucky to have their grandparents in their lives. What we as parents have learned, we have learned beginning with our parents - their grandparents. A grandparent's unconditional love is the kind of love that plants a seed in a child's heart that grows and grows even when those children become grandparents themselves. I could go on & on... But to sum it up in words the kids really know - their Grandmas & Grandpas are good examples!

And like they say - Grandparents are those with silver in their hair and gold in their hearts. Along with the kiddos, we are blessed to have them! Love to you all.

Micaela is ten months old

Well, this happened nine days ago, but I still thought it was worth mentioning! Micaela moves VERY fast these days. She crawls very quickly and loves to chase after her brother and sisters. She has even begun to pull herself up to standing. We've brought down some toys that we think she'd enjoy playing with while learning to stand up on her own. It's a whole new world!!
She has two bottom teeth and she's eating more types of foods and drinking from a cup (none of those spill proof cups - this girl gulps like a champ from a tumbler!). She doesn't nap a ton during the day, but sleeps very well at night. Her favorite word is still "Dada" - big surprise there! :o) She likes singing her own baby tunes and doing a cute little groove when she hears music. All in all, she's a super sweet, super happy baby and we don't even know what life was like without her! Thank you, God, for Micaela!
